Penn State vs Pitt – Penn State leads the Pennsylvania rivalry all-time series 52-43-4

USC vs BYU – Trojans swept a home-and-home series in 2003-2004, the only two meeting ever between these schools

UNC vs Wake Forest – Friday’s game is NON-conference matchup. Despite both being members of the ACC, Wake Forest and UNC play once every 4 years. They last played in 2015, and 2012 and 2011 before that.

Washington State vs Houston – Cougars coach Mike Leach was a mentor to Houston coach Dana Holgorsen. The first Division 1 job Holgorsen got was at Texas Tech in 2000 as WR Coach. He was later promoted to Offensive Coordinator from 2005-2007.

Other notes:

  • Ohio State has won 23 in a row vs Indiana (dating back to 1991) and are 74-12-4 overall vs Hoosiers.
  • Kentucky tries to win their second game in a row against Florida after winning in 2018 to snap a 31 game losing streak.
  • Clemson’s last regular season loss was against Syracuse at the Carrier Dome in 2017. In 2018, Cuse hung around and lost to Clemson by only single digits (one of two teams to do so, and only ACC team).
  • Virginia has just 3 wins all-time vs Florida State, winning in 2011, 2005, 1995 (3-14).
  • Hawaii looks to improve to 3-0 in PAC-12 play when they play at Washington (wins over Arizona and Oregon State)
  • South Carolina won the last meeting against Alabama, 9 years ago, in 2010.
  • Maryland has scored 142 points in their first two games. They face Temple, who beat them last year.
