College Football Week 7 Picks and Preview

We have picked winners at a 76% rate through six weeks of the 2018 college football season. Let’s take a look at week 7 games to watch and our projected winners in each game.

Games with CFB Playoff Implications

Georgia vs LSU – Tigers lost their first game last week, to Florida. They return home to host the #2 team in the nation. A loss by Georgia wouldn’t eliminate them from playoff contention, but it would require them to win the SEC title game. If they enter the game 12-0, they could lose and still make playoffs at 12-1. LSU must win out, including this game and Alabama to win the SEC east and have any shot at the playoffs.

LSU and Georgia haven’t faced each other since 2013, a game that featured 25 NFL draft picks.

Wisconsin vs Michigan – Wolverines have been rolling since their week 1 loss to Notre Dame, which looks better and better by the week. The narrative around Michigan has long been that Jim Harbaugh can’t win the big game. ESPN Gameday will be in Ann Arbor, its a primetime game against crossover rival Badgers, who enter with one (non conference-loss). Michigan still has Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State so this game will be absolutely critical in keeping their playoff hopes alive.

West Virginia vs Iowa State – Mountaineers need to go undefeated. That’s their only hope. Playing at Ames, Iowa is always a tough spot and Cyclones are coming off an impressive win over Oklahoma State, led by freshman QB Brock Purdy.

Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State are all huge favorites and simply need to avoid major upsets.

What if we get Chaos? What are the most realistic but crazy scenarios in each Power 5 conference?
