MIKEDROPSPORTS Projected College Football Top 25

This is not your typical College Football top 25 rankings. These rankings are based off MikeDropSports college football predictions and reflect how the top 25 will look after conference championship weekend.

1. Georgia

2019 Prediction – 13-0, SEC Champions

Bulldogs finally get their revenge on Alabama in the SEC title game. They run through the regular season with the toughest opponents being Notre Dame and Florida.

SEC season predictions

2. Clemson

2019 Prediction – 12-1, ACC Champions

Clemson loses one game (to Syracuse, on the road, the week after a tough Texas A&M game), but it would shock no one if they finished the regular season unbeaten.

ACC season predictions

3. Alabama

2019 Prediction – 12-1

Alabama will run through the regular season 12-0, before losing the SEC title game to Georgia. Reputation and absurd talent level, keep them in the top 4 and in the CFB Playoffs for a 6th straight season.

4. Texas

2019 Prediction – 12-1, Big 12 Champions

Texas gets the nod over Ohio State for the 4th playoff spot because of two reasons – regular season win over LSU and Big 12 Championship win over Oklahoma, which is more impressive than whoever Ohio State would beat in the Big Ten title game.

Big 12 season predictions

5. Ohio State

Prediction – 12-1, Big Ten Champions

Buckeyes will lose at least one, I think it happens in early September when Justin Fields is still settling in, when they go to Nebraska. Texas gets the edge at 4 because of the LSU and Oklahoma wins.

Big Ten season predictions

6. Notre Dame

Prediction – 10-2

Coming off a 12-0 season, 10-2 would be an excellent year for Notre Dame, considering they have road games at Georgia, Michigan, and Stanford (and I think they go 1-2 in those three)

Notre Dame season predictions

7. Utah

Prediction – 11-2, PAC-12 Champions

Utes beat Washington in PAC-12 title game and make their first ever Rose Bowl, facing Ohio State.

PAC-12 season predictions

8. Michigan

Prediction – 10-2

Deep down, I believe Michigan is better than Ohio State. I just cannot bring myself to pick them until they prove they are capable of it.

9. Oklahoma

Prediction – 10-3

Sooners lose to Texas twice and slip up at Baylor. They also have pesky games against Houston and Oklahoma State.

10. Florida

Prediction – 9-3

LSU and Georgia games will be tough for Gators and they could slip up somewhere else – at Missouri is a tricky game and Tigers have won the last two.

11. Washington

Prediction – 11-2, PAC-12 North Champs

Huskies edge Oregon to win the North, with their one regular season loss coming at Stanford. After beating Utah in the PAC-12 title game in 2018, I think the opposite happens in 2019.

12. LSU

Prediction – 9-3

This schedule is brutal with Texas on the road week 2, plus Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, Florida. Auburn. 9 wins would be impressive.

13 Penn St

Prediction – 9-3

Nittany Lions will produce one major upset in 2019 – they face Michigan at home.

14. Cincinnati

Prediction – 10-2, AAC Champions

Bearcats will end UCF’s 16 game AAC winning streak on 10/4 and they travel to Houston and Memphis – I expect them to split those two games. In this scenario, Bearcats represent Group of Five in the Cotton Bowl.

AAC season predictions

15. Oklahoma St

Prediction – 9-3

Sort of a hollow record with projected losses to Oklahoma, Texas, and Iowa State.

16. Oregon

Prediction – 10-2

Week 1 vs Auburn is going to tell the story of Oregon’s season. That game is essentially a playoff elimination game. I have the Ducks winning, but losing two in PAC-12 play.

17. Iowa

Prediction – 9-4, Big Ten West Champs

In my Big Ten predictions, Hawkeyes win an extremely competitive Big Ten West.

18. Virginia

Prediction – 9-4, ACC Coastal Champs

Cavs become the 7th different team in 7 years to win the ACC Coastal. and the 5th team in 5 years to lose to Clemson in ACC title game. They would represent the ACC in Orange Bowl.

19. Iowa St

Prediction – 8-4

Despite being 2-14 all-time vs Texas, Cyclones upset the Longhorns in Ames.

20. Texas A&M

Prediction – 8-4

Aggies schedule includes 3 our top 3 teams (Alabama, Georgia, Clemson).

21. UCF

Prediction 11-1

Competitive non-conference schedule with Stanford and Pitt. I have Knights losing week 5 at Cincinnati, which costs them the AAC.

22. Wisconsin

Prediction – 8-4

Badgers will bounce back from a difficult 2018 season and Jonathan Taylor will finish top 5 in Heisman Trophy voting.

23. Boise St

Prediction – 11-2, Mountain West Champs

Reclaiming their Mountain West crown is not enough to claim the Group of Five title.

Mountain West season predictions

24. Syracuse

Prediction – 10-2

Win over Clemson, with College Gameday at the Carrier Dome for first time ever, will be their defining moment of the year.

25. North Texas

Prediction – 11-2, C-USA Champs

By the end of this season, you will know who Mason Fine is and Seth Litrell will be a Head Coach at a Power 5 school in 2020.

Conference USA season predictions

Just missed the cut: Florida State, Virginia Tech, Miami Baylor, TCU, USC, North Texas, Houston, Memphis, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska
