Jeff Brohm Snubs Louisville
Good for Jeff Brohm. I don’t know if I would say Purdue is a better job than Louisville, but does it really better? The second year coach decided to remain at Purdue for year 3 in 2019, rather than leave for his hometown alma mater of Louisville. Brohm played QB for the Cardinals in the 90s. That’s great news for Purdue, but the pressure is now on Brohm to win. He’s only 13-12 in two seasons (back-to-back 6 win regular seasons) which at Purdue is fine, but expectations get raised when you start turning down huge offers. Outstanding speedster WR Rondale Moore makes his life easier and a top 25 recruiting class will help too. The big thing favoring Purdue is the Big Ten West being a bit down in 2018 – will that continue in 2019? Or will Wisconsin bounce back, will Nebraska break through, will Iowa have a random awesome season, will Northwestern repeat as champs? Either way, I’d say the odds are more in Purdue’s favor to win the west than they are in Louisville’s favor to unseat Clemson.
We here at M!KEDROPSPORTS do not condone jersey burning and won’t post the tweet, but there was a video of a Louisville fan burning their #12 football jersey. #12 was Brian Brohm, Jeff’s younger brother who was also a recent starting QB for Louisville. There was also reportedly threats made to Jeff Brohm’s high school late Wednesday night that has forced the school to cancel classes for the day, as police investigate.
Reminder – it’s only a football coach. One who is 1 game over .500.
Daily Reminder that Bowl Games DO Matter
Next time someone tells you “who cares about bowl games” remind them that the players care and show them this clip of Vanderbilt celebrating after winning their 6th game over the weekend against Tennessee.
“These random bowl games don’t matter to anyone”
Tell that to Vandy. pic.twitter.com/ch47WQjqOV

Stat of the Day
When the Saints play the Cowboys Thursday, they will be seeking their 5th win in the month of November. This would be the 3rd time they have accomplished this in franchise history:
- In 1987, they got to the playoffs for first time
- In 2009, they made the Super Bowl
Quote of the Day
Giants coach Pat Shurmur….taking a shot at WR Odell Beckham? Here’s what coach said about his kicker Aldrick Rosas earlier this week..
“He’s got the mentality of a football player–he doesn’t care if he’s had a good night sleep, doesn’t care if he’s hydrated.”
Yup….sounds like a shot at Beckham to me!
Tweet of the Day

RESPECT FOR UCF
FINALLY, after months and a year of complaining and pleading their case UCF gets to face Alabama!
Unfortunately, it’s not in football. The Knights, who were projected by the media as the AAC favorites in basketball are 5-1 and host the also 5-1 Crimson Tide, coaching by former NBA player and coach Avery Johnson
What to Watch
- 10-1 Saints take their 10 game winning streak to Dallas to face the 6-5 Cowboys – check on the nostalgic history of these teams
- Warriors visit Toronto, to take on the Raptors, who have the best record in the NBA at 18-4. Since the start of the 2015 season, Golden State hasn’t lost to Toronto. Warriors have won 8 in a row and are averaging 120 points per game in those 8 wins. In 7 of the 8 games, they have also given up over 100 points. As I recommend with every NBA game in 2018 – BET THE OVER!
